1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DocMake ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

DocMake is a document processing platform that provides:

File conversion (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images)
Document combining, splitting, compressing, and watermarking
AI-powered summarization, data analysis, and presentation generation
REST API access for developers

The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified or discontinued at any time without notice.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your password
Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Makes Credits

Makes are usage credits that power AI features on DocMake:

Free users receive 10 Makes per day (resets daily)
Pro subscribers receive 500 Makes per day
Additional Makes can be purchased as pay-as-you-go
Makes do not roll over to the next day
Makes are non-transferable and have no cash value

5. API Usage

If you access DocMake via our API:

API access requires an active Pro subscription
You must include a valid API key with every request
You may not share, resell, or publicly expose your API key
We reserve the right to throttle or revoke API access for abuse
You may not use the API to build a competing product

6. Payments

Payments are processed securely via Paystack. By purchasing a subscription or Makes credits:

You authorize us to charge your selected payment method
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days
All prices are in Ghana Cedis (GHS) unless otherwise stated

7. User Content

You retain ownership of files you upload to DocMake. We:

Do not access your files except to process your requests
Do not share your files with third parties
Automatically delete uploaded files after processing
Do not use your files for training or marketing purposes

8. Acceptable Use

You may not use DocMake to:

Process files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
Upload content that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Use automated scripts to abuse rate limits or Makes allocation
Resell or redistribute DocMake services without authorization

9. Intellectual Property

DocMake and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DocMake and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

DocMake shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
We are not responsible for data loss, even if we were advised of the possibility

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ghana, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
